It’s been an exciting week for Dell Software and many others who have gathered in Houston for the Microsoft World Wide Partner Conference. One of the many exciting themes of the conference has been the announcement that the US Office and SharePoint App Stores will be supporting an additional 22 markets with localized Office and SharePoint storefronts. In addition Office and SharePoint apps will support French, German, Spanish, and Japanese languages as well. We are thrilled to announce that Dell Software’s SharePoint App Social Hub will be a part of the international launch and available to French speaking customers around the world.Dell Social Hub enables users to bring external social media content into SharePoint, without the cost and time-consuming burden of custom development. As a result customers will be able to utilize external social content within SharePoint both in English and French languages.
Social Hub was created by the same Dell Software development team that works on Quick Apps for SharePoint. Dell Software was also named Office/SharePoint App Developer Partner of the Year by Microsoft for the development of Social Hub.
With the Office Store, developers and ISV’s alike have the opportunity to reach all Office users across Consumer and Business segments directly. The international launch of the app store extends this reach significantly. “With this expansion into new geographies and languages, developers now have the ability to develop and sell local-language apps in Spain, Japan, France and Germany that can be purchased through the Office store,” said Dene Cleaver, product marketing manager for the Office Store at Microsoft Corp. “This is just one more way the Office store is enabling developers to re-imagine their solutions for the cloud and meet new targets and customers.”
The Office Store opens up the possibilities for a new breed of apps that live inside Office and SharePoint on-premises and online. Social Hub is Dell's first SharePoint 2013 app and demonstrates our thought leadership and commitment to Microsoft’s strategic shift to the new app model.
